Abstract:
This paper uses the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) to investigate the major factors influencing
students' intentions to use mobile-based technologies (MBT). Using hierarchical regression analysis,
results indicate that the perceived ease of use does not have the expected impact on the intentions to use
MBT, whereas usefulness, compatibility, subjective norms and attitudes are directly linked to the
intentions to use MBT for academic activities. This study is the first to analyze factors influencing
students’ utilization of MBT in Kuwait. Our understandings of factors that influence user intentions are
enhanced especially in the context of MBT in a developing economy.
